I have no idea what you are trying to say there, but if it's an
obfuscated rant about Sun Java... it doesn't really matter.
Apple said the phone is a closed platform. period.
We won't be developing anything for it.
They gave us a tiny example of this with the deliberately closed
("licenseable") iPod platform. The phone will be worse.
I'd rather have a device I could program with some discomfort, than
one with nothing at all.
And I'm absolutely not convinced that the (lat,lon) y'all think are
in the phone, return (0,0) for all questions cuz the phone really has
no idea where it's at. Just cuz it's in the API doesn't mean it's in
the device.

look at jsr-179 (j2me location api) for example; the mailing lists
are replete with people that sun has managed to capture the time
and attention of who eventually discover that the much vaunted api

to me the cellphone space still look like a witches brew of free

platform. For my part, if I can't program it, I don't want it.
