Personally, I think it is all our fault (programmers/hackers, etc) that this has come to pass. How many times have you heard "I have no idea how all the fancy stuff on my phone works, I just want to make phone calls" from your ordinary non-computer friends? I've had a number of Windows Mobile phones that did all sorts of fancy stuff, but were impossible for my wife to use (and were crummy phones). She can use her iPod however. The iPhone will be fashionable, play music and videos, and make phone calls. Oh yeah, email and Google searches too. The last two are already stretching the limits of consumers abilities. Its just a phone-music-email device. The only other thing phones are useful for is playing games. I wonder how that will play out... Roger
