Yes I have one pair that can't seem to get along unless they are in a
separate room!  There was speculation that crowding tanks together was
causing the fighting problems I was having, but I don't think that was
it.  I think it was because by the time I reached the last few tanks, I had
the smells of 20 + gerbils all over me!  I play with each one as I feed
them.  Since then I have started changing shirts at least twice during the
feeding rounds, and washing all the way up to my elbows.  Plus I do the
pairs first.  I haven't had a single fight and in fact have 2 promising
split cage introductions going *crossing fingers*.  Of course I'm sure the
age factor had something to do with it as well.  I had a lot of gerbils
entering the 2 year mark and several reaching adulthood.
