Yes, you can choose to do so.

What we are trying to do, is to make sure that you are aware of
the consequences if you are caught doing so.

I do.  You may do as you wish.  However, because at least I
wish to encourge safe and legal practices through the Gerbil Forum;
I posted the message I did concerning what I had found out last
week.  From an official savvy on federal law, at the USPS.
