Snakes kept in captivity will eat dead rodents. The keepers dip the head of
the feeder animal into condensed chicken broth. The smell is highly enticing
for the snakes. So, frozen rodents are a normal food source for captive
reptiles. And as a previous post has stated these suppliers are federally
regulated and licensed. Therefor, it is on the up and up and perfectly
legal.

While I would never contribute to this food chain with my own animals, I'm
not opposed to the practice either as all frozen feeder animals are, under
federal regulations, humanly euthenized and fresh frozen. The euthanasia
used would be no different than that used by your local veterinarian. The
animals suffer no pain, they are not suffocated, they just go to sleep.

And remember, what we consider taboo to eat, people in other countries have
no choice but to consume. Many people get their protein needs fulfilled by
gathering and roasting insects  ={
