This would be one way. The other would be to put the doc in it's own
space. Some reasons:
1. Can ggi be installed separate from gii? No so usually you need the
docs for both
2. Some docs might be interdependent.
3. You often don't need the docs. If you just want to update the code
(latest snapshot) downloading the docs would just cause more traffic and
higher phonebills.

My suggestion would be to put the docs into a separate tree.

IMHO only sources should go into cvs. SGML/XML is a source format.
Everything that can be derived from that shouldn't go into cvs (or would
you commit binaries into cvs?). But the different formats of
documentation should be put onto the server for download. Btw checking
out the cvs tree would take more time, traffic, phonebill....
