Thanks, appreciated. However, I have just pushed a small change to git
which treats the image data as linear and passes it through 1:1, so I
think this should improve things.
Please check and give feedback.
(And actually, this kind of discussions are better suited for
gimp-developer, which I follow a bit more closely).
