I think https://github.com/apache/datafusion/pull/20009 also needs the write version (`map_expressions`). We can revert and treat the `apply_expressions` PR as a dependency of whichever PR (#21350, #20899, etc.) actually needs it, so both ship in the same release. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
