Oh! Yes this brings up once more the sustainability issue that remains
the main constraint for many development projects. I keep saying
repeatedly to partners that the success of any project relies on how
efficiently the issue of sustainability is addressed at the onset.

Business models and/or project design that ensure cost recovery seem to
be the route development practitioners should consider in many cases, in
particular where they deal with ICT- projects or ICT-involved ones. Even
though the required outsourced services are provided for free or with
subsidy, the real full  cost is and has to be supported by somebody. In
the case of Community farm radios or privatedly operated FM radios in
West  Africa, revenues are generated through ads posting or
NGO-sponsored themes  broadcasting. This does not mean that those radios
do not face problems, but such commercial service delivery, though
sometimes very small, can help.
