I'm afraid mitigation, to a large extent, is an illusion. China et al
will continue to pollute at ever increasing rate. Those increases will
likely overshadow the mitigation efforts of the developed countries.

If anybody is wondering what I'm doing here - here's the answer. The
good folks at RealClimate finally achieved full consensus by refusing
to pass any of my comments, no matter the content.
