He might have had 10 when he left NJ, but I doubt very much that he had 10 over Long Island Sound. I fly that route all the time, and had a rental scheduled that night (pre-Coupe), which I cancelled. The reason I cancelled is that it was very hot and hazy, and there was only a couple of degrees between temp and dew point, and not much moon. Sure fire recipe for something a lot like fog once you're over water after dark and the temp starts dropping. My CFI took me out over the Sound on a night just like that when I was training to make a point. Over land, it was OK. But over water with no full moon, the horizon disappears. It's black up, it's black down. It's no place for a VFR pilot. >From: "Desert Eagle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Date: Sat, 3 Aug 2002 20:36:06 -0600 > >Thing is Visibility was 10 miles, and he had the airport in sight. >Something Leslie Holbrook Alon A2 N161LH (Flying Colors #1) Chester, CT 3B9 th _________________________________________________________________ Join the world's largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com ================================================================== TO UNSUBSCRIBE go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
