Amen! Indeed, I think the PP-ASEL rating gives you the same right and responsibility. Only too many pilots don't realize that. They think that when the briefing says 'Outlook: VFR' that that is license to go. Even if many things that get that label are way outside of their abilities. And it's fuzzy, because you only get better by doing things that are progressively harder. But if you try something that turns out to be TOO hard you better have an escape route or three. There are precious few things in this world where you still have your own ultimate destiny in your own hands. In some sort of inescapable fashion. Aviation is one of them. One of the others I can think of is single-handed sailing. As old Woodie Guthrie used to sing: 'You got to walk that lonesome valley. You got to walk it by yourself. Ain't nobody here can walk it for you. You got to walk it by yourself.' Greg ================================================================== TO UNSUBSCRIBE go to: http://ercoupers.com/lists.htm
