This is a common attitude, but it's misguided.  Unfortunately, I can not
lay 
my hands on the "acceptable data" to refute it right now (Try AC 
65-something), but I've seen plenty of engines that run at redline oil
temp 
because of sloppy baffling.  This is not to say that you may not have
another 
problem, and as someone mentioned, if cylinder head temps are in line than

it's likely not baffles, but time and time again "My baffles are good"
turns 
out to be wrong.
