Hi Bill - As another older fellow, and one who occasionally has to correct
what he's typed, I also dislike the new Compose box. One of the very
unhelpful features about it is that it jumps up behind the original letter
(the one to which I'm replying) if I need to correct a letter or a
punctuation mark - so I can't see what I'm typing when I correct things.
I've written to the Gmail Users group about it, but there seems to be no
solution to it. I guess you and I are the only ones bothered by it. I'm
going to send a note to the Gmail Feedback site, but of course if there
aren't many people who want things changed, things aren't going to be
changed.
