I would be interested to know about Alpine and Vim.   I am a power
emailer.   That's actually why one main reason why I liked Gmail from the
beginning, aside from its huge (at the time) capacity, was that it was web
based.  I had reached the conclusion in 2004 that web based email was
better and more secure than the desktop clients I had been using.  Mostly
Pegasus as I recall.  I thought Pegasus was great but I wanted to migrate
to a web service.

Anyway as a desktop laptop user I already have lots of space.  For me,
having to click several hundred extra clicks a day just to accomplish the
same work I am getting done now is not an improvement.  *i understand that
others accessing gmail through phones etc may like the trade-off and they
are probably in a large majority.   italics are completely  accidental.*
