Be sure: *I am not accusing you or anyone else of trying to hide this*. My concern is just that, completely by accident, we have been keeping these plans and activities hidden from "the membership at large".
Now, I can only speak for myself, but I don't recall any announcements regarding incorporation or adoption of bylaws at recent Nashua meetings. Of course, I could have missed such an announcement, even at a meeting I attended, and there could have been announcements at other meetings (which I am guilty of not attending).
However, I am as sure as I can be that there has been no mention of any of this on any of the discussion or announce mailing lists, or on any of the websites. I checked lists and websites at gnhlug.org, but centralug.org, dlslug.org, slug.gnhlug.org, and pysig.org for this.
And if I wasn't one of the "privileged few" included in Ed Lawson's email, I wouldn't be aware of *this* sub-discussion at all.
Of course, I'm just one person. Still, if it has been like that for me -- someone who has been putting in an effort to be involved -- I have to ask if "the membership at large" might be surprised by all this.
Again: I am not against this. I suspect most people will be, at worst, indifferent about this, and more likely in favor of it. I think significant benefits would be brought by this. I just want to make sure "everyone" knows this is going on before we start presenting things for final approval.
In other words, if the concern is that some might accuse us of being a cabal, we should make every effort to make everyone aware of what is going on at every step of the process.
If everyone thinks I'm just having paranoid delusions, just say so, and I'll go back to talking to my Rice Krispies. ;-)
