An occasional job posting to this list is not something that I'm concerned
about at all. It's rare and therefore I don't foresee enough volume to justify
a separate list at this time. When they are posted, I read them in full because
it's edifying to see what's out there. It's nice to play with all these toys
and get paid for it so I find job postings very interesting even though I'm not
actively looking for something new. Conclusion?, bring 'em on.
What does bother me is what I would call the increased level of noise on this
list. I am whining now so if you don't like whining stop reading this. Often
when I get to reading my mail, there are a dozen or more postings from this
list,
many with little content. I am guilty of posting them as well.
Yes, I can delete them which is exactly what I do, often without even reading
them. This behavior forces me to ask myself, "What's the point?" I can create
mail filters and such, but, I've got more than enough to do already. Better
to get the "problem" at the source.
I not sure of a good way to solve this "problem" I perceive and to some it's
probably
not even a problem. If new lists are to be created, I'd rather see at least one
for
hard content and one for lighter conversation.
Well, that's my $0.02. and I will agree that perhaps this message belongs in the
category of "useless waste of bandwidth." I've wasted it many times and
encourage
people to do so because where I work we make high bandwidth telecommunications
equipment.
