The story first appeared in the Nashua Telegraph, the lady in question often
goes as a "Designated Driver" with her friends (who DO drink). While she only
drinks one soda there, the owner told her if she wouldn't drink alcohol, he
couldn't allow her to stay for the Karaoke, she could come back when her
friends were ready to leave. According to the story, the owner said he made
money on the booze, and couldn't afford to serve people who didn't drink
alcohol.

Since then, there have been many letters to the editor in the Telegraph, I'd
have to check on if the owner has separately denied or agreed with the story
(outside of the original story). Given the press coverage in the Telegraph,
if the owner disagreed, he's certainly had plenty of reasons to do so
publicly, and has not. I can say (as someone who does not drink, and often
has been the "Designated Driver," and as an EMT/Emergency Responder) that I
have lost all interest in either a) going to the Grand Buffet (since I'm
apparently not welcome there), and in going to any restaurant in the vicinity
on Karaoke night at the Grand Buffet (given the likelihood of there being
drunk drivers from the Grand Buffet on the road, given the paucity of public
transportation in Nashua).
