I vote for having both.  More choice is good.  Debating the selection
criteria for the LiveCD is worthwhile.

Nah.  XFree86 was stagnating for awhile before the fork.  X
development exploded after the fork which is why no one (almost) uses
XFree86 anymore.  Mozilla draws from the Win and Mac communities where
this is a much smaller issue.  I don't see Linux only dev causing a
similar explosion.  Still, I'd love to be wrong.
