If Mike Connor gets what he wants there will be a general store with  
patches that one could use against stable release of Firefox and still  
call it Firefox. Before such store is created one could probably refer to  
that the patch one uses is the same patch as "big-one" distro, with  
permission to redistribute, uses, to speed up the approval process.

Yes, the problem Debian has is that paragraph 8 in their DFSG (Debian Free  
Software Guidelines) requires that their license isn't Debian specific.  
That means that even if they get permission to redistribute Firefox they  
can't really use it because the permission doesn't apply to Debian  
derivates.
