Does a user's information (IP, browser, cookie info) get sent to
Google when viewing a map on a page?

I have several uses for the Google Maps API on some sites here in
Canada. My organization's policy is that no private information may
be sent outside the country. IP addresses, for our organization, are
considered private.

So if I were viewing / interacting with a map on a site (which
obviously can see my IP) - does my IP get sent to google? Does the
map set a cookie which is read by google containing anything that
identifies me?

TIA.

Andrew
