Of course Google needs the IP of the end user, as Igloo said " (How is it
going to know to where to send the return data?) ". By putting the API
you your page, you are for example putting '<script
src="http://maps.google.com/maps?file=....' which is Google's server,
and they need the IP adresss to send the javascript to the users
browser.
