OK, I was hoping "printer-friendly" qualifies as "web-browser" usage.

So there is no way in the API to produce an image from a map? It looks
like that subsection - or the whole section - is aimed at preventing
clients providing some sort of competing service. I'll have to confirm
with Google, but if we really are restricted to screen shots in our
product, Google Maps won't do for us.
