Maybe we're talking of different things. I don't know gettext. GWT Constants/Messages work the same way like file-based ResourceBundles in Java. This technique is documented e.g. at http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/util/ResourceBundle.html and (talking of the property-file-format) at http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/util/PropertyResourceBundle.html This might be the reason why you don't find very much information about that in the documentation of GWT because it's assumed that Java-developers are already aware of this technique. > In other words: the translators have to > start all over, from scratch, re-translating the whole application. Nothing more and nothing less.
