Mahhongg,

In the synaptic manager, it only offers options to remove or
completely remove.  So, it is acting like it is already installed.
Based on the number of times I have downloaded adobe flash, I would
hope so!

So, I still have the problem.

I'll try to uninstall it, and reinstall.
