As far as I know, all you have to do, on a freshly installed gOS, to
get you-tube working is to install the Adobe (shockwave) flash player
plugin, using synaptics, in the way I have described. I never had to
add any extra Codexes, at least not on You-Tube. If Synaptics does not
offer a re-install, then maybe it cannot find "flash-player plugin" in
any of the repositories you have enabled. Check your "software
sources" (menu program) to check if you have all the necessary sources
enabled.
