From all I understand, the Yandex deal only is for Russia and does not include any of the other named countries (just as the Baidu default is for China only - which was already the case before today, FWIW). As all regions where Mozilla does not have a special deal will stay with Google as a default for now, that should also include the Ukrainian locale, for example.

Do you have better proposals of general-purpose search engines that would work well in Russia and/or China and that are neither Google, nor influenced by those governments, but could still do significant revenue sharing agreements with Mozilla? The latter is unfortunately important, as Mozilla can not have an impact with its mission if it can't feed its employees.
