For computers other than thin clients, I use the "silent" cases of the Antec Sonata range for example. My computers are not to be heard, but also not to be seen anyway. The way I like my workplace is having a big high resolution screen at eye level with brightness and contrast adjusted to the bright ambience light, a comfortable responsive keyboard tilted to the angle of my relaxed wrists, a tiny USB hub close by for USB sticks (my screen actually has USB hub and card readers integrated into the side of the screen), and otherwise I don't want to see nor hear my computer The only duty of the case is to protect it's inner workings from the environment, the environment from the emissions of the inner workings, and otherwise it has to make itself unseen. With Compaq or HP or any of the other big brands you always get what they want you to have, never what you really want.
