I'd like to apologize about my winge about argus ; the fact that an amateur
in programming like myself can get an idea of how argus is set up and its framework,
and also that it is the only locally made application which has lots of support, lots of
documentation, responsive and swift programmers employed full time to deal with
user issues, both normal and picky (referring to myself), and that it manages to create
automated workflows across so many applications , and it also has a functional open
source publication of its source code, would make me shudder to think if we lost
argus to some closed source, over-paid , management-topheavy mob just across the seas,
and it would really irk my leftist bones if money went to some monopoly minded , Born-to-Rule
idiots who think the rest of the world owes a grossly disproportional percentage of income
to them.

Greetings All,
I apologise for being absent for this entire episode. I was travelling
intersate, so was unable to jump into the fray to assist Horst.
Elizabeth, it's time you let us upgrade your installation. My support
guys can assist you to ensure that Argus will run as a "service" whether
you are running on Lunix, Mac or Windows. Not only can the action of
checking for incoming messages be executed automatically in this manner,
but Argus also utilises services for these tasks:
- keeping your address book up to date from our LDAP server
- executing regular backups
- archiving of the database
- detecting file drops, for the purpose of sending them
Once it has been configured, you should never need to open Argus manually.
Regards
