Funny hing is that the original mouse ("invented" by Parc Place Systems,
Xerox) had 3 buttons, and in the early times of X implementations (or
Smalltalk80 which is what I used some 25 years ago) we had to struggle with
2-button "PC" mice, emulating the third button by clicking both buttons
simultaneously
Took MS and Apple nearly two decades to rediscover the benefits of more than
one or two mouse buttons.
Processors might be evolving fast, but software and ergonomic input hardly has
changed AT ALL in the past 20 years (eg the power of a Smalltalk80 system
already then!)
