I will now respond to your first part bocz I found it irritating. Whatever anonymity we claim in this group, Sanjeev and Me knows closley and so I cant stop responding to this.
the meanign of patronising: *patronising* - (used of behavior or attitude) characteristic of those who treat others with condescension - of or characteristic of high rank or importance; "a superior ruler" Do sanjeev consider my tone as patronising in the above meaning? when you say that a particular person's response was submerged in the layers of varied meanings, do you think it as patronising? Unfortunately, it was Satchi mash response. Unfortunately he is a cleberated poet by name Satcidanadan whom I may refer to as Satchi mash. Is that made you think I was 'patronising"? I doubt. But sanjeev pls. dont make such sweeping phrases to silence a point which I wanted to make. If in case you think trying to enable an argument put forth my another perons is patronising... Dileep's quotes are no less patronising? Then you may say that Satchi mash himself can represent him here. Ok, fine..thats well and good. But let that not deter me from quoting him and bring forth his reflections to present my view. I also like to accuse you here, even half-heartedly, that you have a condesceding attitude towards every one in this group as you impress to read academic texts and then ony come here for discussion. damodar On 7/10/08, S sanjeev <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > DAMODAR PRASAD WRITES : After reading the thread of this discussion, I > found the points raised by Satchi mash was sunk by a parochialistic > understading of religion in public space...I found Satchi Mash was enabling > a different pursuit of understanding, which was submerged in the > amplification of an altogether different concerns. > > Why this patronizing tone damodar prasad? > > > Secondly, Sudeep has clearly identified the location in his first posting, > i.e, Valanchery and it's a mail highlighting a personal issue. > > > Valanchery is in Malapuram dictrict which has it's own turbulent history of > formation, and i dont think the matter of one's location and socio-cultural > negotiations with it could be simply termed "personal". > > this is what subid says in his last mail : "If one doesn't react, all will > become deaf.
