Dear Salim,
Sorry for the late response, saw this thread only by today. I think it
is useful to rethink worker, when this false dichotomy of worker/dalit
is made. And probably we should try reading Lohia to understand what
he has to say on class and caste. I think when we discuss Chengara,
when the media is silent, or when CPI(M) distorts the struggle and the
demands, it is not devoid of theory.

And Frankly, the worker question came up even in a Delhi discussion, I
didnt have a clear answer. One can counter question saying 'why
suddenly this worker discussion'. But I think Chengara struggle is
very much connected to issues of work, and it would be worth to
discuss it more!
