I'm going to need to modify what I said earlier about the 4.2 TeX files
working with the 4.1 binary. While the version conflict error isn't
raised, I'm getting some strange results which are pointing to
compatibility issues.
Tomorrow (Sunday), I'll recreate the 4.1 branch, pick into it the
TeXLive 2016 related changes, and otherwise start work on a 4.1.2
release for uploading to CTAN. That will need to be ready within about
a week, but the 4.2 release cycle can continue at its own pace.
