Yes, while Latex is certainly powerful, font handling is one of its more
obscure arts. It really is not all that hard when you get used to it.
That aside, if you could send me an abbreviated copy of your main latex file
and a sample gabc file, let me run it on my set up. It is possible that there
is an issue with your Tex setup or possibly with your main file. At least we
can narrow down the possibilities.
