Try, instead of <sp>R\</sp>, <v>\Rbar</v>.

that just gives me Rbar/.Suscipiat etc. in the text underlay.
In the tex file:

\syllable{Rbar/}{.}{ Su}
The problem is plainly how Gregorio is processing the gabc file.
