The functionality is minutia to be honest. And it doesn't matter much now to
be honest.

Basically what used to happen is that people would leave it in that state so
that apps could register. However, now even if the app isn't running, I
think we still receive registrations. That plus auto registration pretty
much make this an obsolete preference.

Your mockup is much clearer. I do not agree with putting in more preferences
for preference sake though, I'd prefer to have a reason to keep it. Right
now I'm leaning towards the "rip it out it smells like gym socks" side of
the fence.

Good point though. This sort of feedback is excellent.
