Fair enough; I didn't ask you to search for that, though I can see that you
would. Searching for just "disk image" gives you, as the first hit,
Wikipedia's Disk Image page, and as the second hit, "Apple Disk Image," which
clearly explains what a disk image is.
All irrelevant. We don't want our steps to require computer literacy, nor
should they require that you Google terms and look things up on Wikipedia to
understand them.

If you uninstalled Growl via a 3rd party (assuming that 3rd party actually has
a working uninstaller) it would, by definition, be uninstalled, unless you are
using an application that will be reinstalling Growl automatically. These
applications are described on that page. If Growl is being reinstalled and you
do not have those applications, then it's possible there is some new, badly
behaved app out there. We would like to know about it if so we can do our best
to address it.

I agree.
Chris or Peter, could you give me access to (or point me to) the Growl web
repository? I'll take care of this early next week.
Cheers,
Evan
