Do any of you have contact info for the DC area regional Yamaha rep? Here's
my problem:
I just bought a '94 GTS. When I went over the bike I didn't dare test the
ABS because I wasn't the owner and I didn't want
to take any chances on having the brakes lock up in traffic on an unfamiliar
bike. In any event, I tested it when I got home.
This allowed the safety of a street with no traffic. I stomped on the rear
break at about 20 mph and it locked up and stayed
locked up. I repeated the test a few times with the same results. I went
back home and started running diagnostics and I also
tested the HU. The HU will not pulsate under the static test described in
the manual (ground out plug on ABS test point, hold
both brakes, and turn on).
The owner never mentioned the problem but he may not have known. I've heard
that Yamaha is replacing the hydraulic pump
for free. Do you know of anyone who has gotten this done in the DC area? I
expect a battle with the dealers, so I want to go
straight to the regional Yamaha rep. If you can also put me in contact
(e-mail addresses) with anyone who has gotten this
work done that would be appreciated. If you have gotten the work done right
and live in the DC area can you please tell me
what dealer did the
