The fact is, Nick, one way or another Walt will be getting a new HU from
Yamaha USA for free including parts and installation. Our NHTSA (National
Highway Transportation Safety (?) Admin {part of the US Department of
Transportation}) kind of frowns on the number of failures that this unit has
caused. We haven't asked them to order a recall because Yamaha USA has been
pretty good about replacing the HUs, when they saw the number of owners
who'd had failures. Yam USA has even re-imbursed some owners who paid out
of pocket for the replacements before Yam USA decided to cover the HUs.
