It is an interesting argument on the use of speed detection devices. If the intent is to maintain the posted speed, the use of a detectable device such as radar would deter more people for that very same reason. Speeding tickets could be interpreted as nothing more than another taxation. It makes no sense why departments need the more expensive laser guns when they can write as many speeding tickets as they want with the old radar technology. Seems like it is nothing more than wasting tax payers dollars to fund a bunch of testosterone driven groups with high tech toys.
