John
Once you get the seat off, drill out the pop rivets that hold the latch
on. Put a couple of small washers in as spacers and pop rivet it back
on. Permanent fix.

George,

I took your advice....went down sweet talked her. Told her she was my
favorite and my first love. I told she would always be number one. I
tried the key again.............still didn't work. Then I slapped the
bitch around and jumped up and down on her and showed who was the boss.
Then I inserted my key in the lock...................she snapped it
right off. I'm taking her to the lock smith in the morning..:<( These
females are all the same.
