Mike, I don't think everyone will want to bring tents and camping gear and so if it
was to be a campground I think it would need to have some fully equipped cabins. It
wouldn't be that cheap but I'll look at the options.

If we stay in a hotel in somewhere like Frisco we can probably walk from the hotel to
a nice big Brew Pub and socialize, brag and tell lies well into the night there.

Thor, The idea is to stay somewhere central like Frisco/Leadville so that we could do
the Aspen, Hotchkiss, Black Canyon, Buena Vista ride one day and the Mt Evans, Estes
Park ride the next. Staying in Golden is not a good idea if we want to easily access
the best of Colorado. Apart from that I think it would be a lot nicer staying in the
mountains rather than near a busy interstate in the city. Unfortunately, that also
makes a BBQ at your place a little difficult to fit in to the schedule. Maybe we could
do a lunch stop BBQ there on our second day ride. Have to go easy on the beers
though...

Joe.

Allow me to be clear, I don't want to camp after riding all the way to
Colorado. My concern is that hotels do not offer biker friendly
gathering
places to drink beer and tell lies well into the night.

I go to these things for the social interaction and I'm afraid if we all
pile into a local Motel 6, we won't have an environment conducive to
social
interaction.

IMHO, of course.

Mike
