Good point. 

The Traveller setting has contragrav, which would solve
this problem, but most GT starships have one G vectored 
thrust or more instead.

Also, the classic deckplans show landing gear, but the 
GT:Starships designs have underbelly skids. That should
bring the ground pressure down a lot. The contact area
for a typical trader is 750 sf, that will keep the 
ground pressure manageable.
