But how realistic is it? Between the world wars, people experimented
with armed motorcycles and sidecars. That faded away soon. Or Little
Nellie from You Only Live Twice. We don't see those in the Air Force.

But how much of that extra load is taken by tools and spares for the
vehicle? Will a man on an ATV have a longer range than a man on foot
with plenty of MREs in the backpack? Or is the ATV just faster?

Contragrav without a thruster would work that way. But right now I'm
thinking of TL11, and that means reactionless lift thrusters. Hard 
to explain why it uses thrusters for lift but not for propulsion.

The German name is Akia. Is there an English name? They were used in 
WWII at the eastern front, often to tow crew-served weapons.
