Scaleable bombs can become a problem. Are small AM bombs actually
effective in bang for weight/volume if you include the containment field?
If you have something like a minimum size for containmentfields, you might
be better off with ordinary explosives.
AM storage facilities as target for military or terrorist strikes are an
other possiblity, i am not decided if that is good or bad for the setting.
The ship being in danger of exploding has it's advantages. It means there
is good reason not to build AM ships if you can help it, even if AM
technology exists.
It won't be a few isolated AM sites. If antimatter is used for mid-size
grav vehicles, it will be antimatter everywhere. My draft Heavy Grav
Gunship needs 50 MW, which would explode with several hundred kilotons
if the vehicle is disabled or destroyed.
AM explosions as part of normal combar or vehicle accidents would be
indeed a game changer.
AM production and storage could propably put to space stations or distant
worlds accessed by gates, so little more then the installation itself
would be destroyed should something happen there.
There also is the possiblity that given the dangers of AM only some
factions use it, while others don't even if it means worse vehicles.
