Hello Mike,

now that the first couple of vehicles are out, what do you think? Your
original requests mutated quite a bit during the brainstorming and the
vehicle design.

(Of course the rest of you are welcome to pitch in, too ...)

The Light Grav Gunship (Dec 30th) could be the usual party ride for a
small group of players, but it lacks the payload to carry a team plus
supplies/NPCs/the McGuffin. It works better as the occasional deus ex
machina, to pull the team out of trouble. I was thinking of the MH-6
Little Bird, except that people can't ride outside a spacecraft. No
more than two troopers in addition to the crew. It should fit through
outdoor gates without any problem.

With just two or three player characters, the Light Gunship could be
suitable if the PCs are jack-of-all-trade heroes who do their own
piloting. The fourth seat could be folded away to carry gear (or the
McGuffin of the week) or perhaps a NPC. The Light Gunship has some
stealth even without the stealth force screen, so you could hide it
in the bushes and go exploring on foot.

If Earth got their Light Gunships out of salvaged Precursor caches,
the Evil Overlords could use the exactly same model, but a pen and
paper game doesn't have the same prop-building limitations as a TV
show. The EO will get their own designs (next month).

The Medium Gunship (next week) is quite similar, but with four crew
plus four folding seats and a hyperdrive. It could be used with a
NPC crew and the PCs as dismount troops, or with a PC "dismounting
crew" and some equipment in the rear of the cabin.

The Scout Gravbike (Dec 23rd) was also intended as a ride for player
characters. It fits through most gate buildings where a human will
fit, and it carries enough supplies to explore part of a planet.

It is more transport than combat vehicle. The meta-game reason is
that it would be difficult to force it down without killing the
character -- cinematic heroes have to give the EO an audience for
his or her rants before the EO gives them a chance to escape. It's
somewhere in the union rules ...

Regards,
Onno
