Original or like scenario was:

Bradley Warnes original comments:

...Unfortunately, the patron from the Megacorp that hired the party, hadn't
told them the full story. All they'd been briefed was that a research
station was in difficulty and needed re-supply, plus some local security
assistance until the Megacorp could bring in its own mercs over from the
sector capital.
There was no mention that scientists were gone, marines never reported in,
scouts sent hadn't returned, nor did another party of adventurers from a
rival tramp freighter... in all, they should have known something was up
when the patron refused to accompany them due to pressing business concerns
on the other side of the subsector.
Going in, the party saw the Marine pinnace, empty and in ruins from the
harsh atmosphere. Next to it was a closed-top air raft, in a similar
state... not far away lay the remains of a scout courier - hatches wide
open with nobody inside. Outside the complex they saw the remains of
several poor souls, and once inside with the filter masks off, they could
smell the stench of decomposing flesh.
A quick search found the remains of a scout team... and that's when the
party began arguing between themselves about what to do next... giving
perfect opportunity for the referee to giggle and start the combat session
for the party's survival.
But wait, there's more and I don't mean a free set of steak knives... no,
someone is manipulating the indigenous lifeforms, uplifting the
intelligence and capabilities... giving them the smarts to open doors and
think strategically about the little pinkie-things intruding on their
domain. Who is behind it... the Megacorp, wealthy individuals with more
credits than sense, or is it a more sinister plot to destabilise the region
by those pesky clamshell helmeted folks?
Sorry.. no vargr zombies this time...
