Part of the reason for the four man crew is that they're doing their own field maintenance on the thing, whereas the fighter jock has a crew at the airbase for that. Another reason for the crew is the tank's weapons aren't fixed front. Turret can and will be pointing every which way, which would be disorienting if you're also driving. (Much less driving at supersonic speeds...) Even off-boresight missiles are a matter of indicating a bad guy and telling the missile to sic them, not aiming a single projectile with no homing ability.
