Are you denying the fact that Vista requires a far more powerful
machine than XP?
That was the basis of my advice. What is so bad about it?
Besides, it is widely agreed here that Window-Eyes runs slower on
Vista. It is only sensible to wait a little longer before moving over to Vista.

bad advice!
vista is far more secure then xp will ever be.
it prevents root kits from being installed, its startup files do not
load in the same order every time when you boot, makeing it harder
for malware and key loggers to install,
if you run as a standard user most viruses will not install unless
you give it elivated administrator privlages
you don't have this kind of security with xp even with sp3.

my advice would be to stick to XP, better still, XP Pro. Vista is
still in its infancy and I for one wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
I think Dell still supports XP Pro on its business machines.
Vista is extremely resource hungry. If you chose XP you wouldn't
have to spend much on the hardware for an impressively fast system.

Hi,
I am considering buying a new computer. It seems as though most
of them come with Windows Vista instead of XP. I have heard some
horror stories about Vista, that I am hesitant about upgrading to
it from XP. How does vista work with Window-eyes? Any feedback
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Helen
