Ah but, what if I wanted to install version 7 from the CD when I receive it?
Bearing in mind I've installed the download upgrade.
Maybe, for example, I want to add different voices, or different versions of
the manuals, so what then?

You're half right. The CD contains the full install, plus the upgrade
install. While the download is only the upgrade install.

They're usually sent out soon after you've downloaded the upgrade. In
fact, if I remember rightly, you get the latest version of the
software
instead of just the upgrade.
